October in Seattle: Fall Festivals & Things to Do

October is one of our favorite times of year in Seattle. The leaves are changing, the air is getting crisp, and there’s no shortage of ways to get out and enjoy our community. From live jazz and incredible glass art to cultural festivals and some of the most delicious food in the region, there’s something happening throughout the month.

If you’re looking for things to do in Seattle this October, here are a few local events worth adding to your calendar:

• Earshot Jazz Festival | October 7–25 – Seattle’s annual celebration of jazz returns for its 38th year, bringing local, national, and international musicians to venues throughout the city. This year’s festival also celebrates the centennials of jazz legends John Coltrane and Miles Davis.

• CroatiaFest | October 4 – Head to Seattle Center for a free celebration of Croatian culture featuring traditional music, dance, food, colorful costumes, and more. It’s part of Seattle Center’s Festál series of cultural festivals.

• TurkFest | October 10–11 – Another free Seattle Center Festál event, TurkFest celebrates Turkish and Turkic cultures with music, dance, arts, a marketplace, food, and family-friendly activities at the Armory Food & Event Hall.

• REFRACT: The Seattle Glass Experience | October 15–18 – Explore the Pacific Northwest’s renowned glass-art community through artist demonstrations, exhibitions, open studios, hands-on experiences, and special events throughout Seattle and the surrounding region. More than 80 artists are participating in events across the four-day celebration, with many activities free to attend.

• Seattle Restaurant Week | October 18–31 – Fall is a great excuse to try somewhere new! Seattle Restaurant Week features restaurants, cafés, bars, food trucks, and pop-ups throughout the greater Seattle area offering special menus at various price points. It’s also a great opportunity to support our local culinary community.

• Día de Muertos Festival Seattle | October 31–November 1 – Close out the month at Seattle Center with this free community celebration honoring Día de Muertos traditions. The festival features elaborate altars, performances, art, face painting, sugar-skull activities, music, and more.
